MCGC Invitational March 3, 2012This year's MCGC Invitational hosted at Chippewa Valley High School will be Saturday, March 3, 2012. We are expecting a great turn out of spectacular Winter Guard and Drumline Units from all over the state at both high school and college level. It will be a great SHOW OF THE ARTS and we hope you will take time to support and enjoy the event. Tickets are $7 at the door. Children 5 and under are FREE. Programs will be sold at the door for $2. Concessions will be available all day.
SIGN UP AS A VOLUNTEERThis will be a major fundraiser for the entire BAND/GUARD/Winterline programs. All proceeds will go to the General Fund. All hands on deck! We will need many, many volunteers. The more people we get; the easier it will be for all.
We already have 17 or more units signed up. Volunteers will be needed Friday for Setup and Saturday ALL DAY. Shifts will be available for signup at the Booster Meetings in both January and February but don't wait to sign up. Volunteering will be very similar to how we run the fall SMB Invitational with the exception that it's inside. Although this event is held at our high school we are only the worker bees - the MCGC governing organization will take over and run the show. We just supply the manpower!! However, the better show we have, the more people who come that day and the more schools attend in future. They will all pay admission, buy our program and eat at our concession - bringing in big bucks for our general fund! We will have a sign-up sheet for specific assignments at the next Booster Meeting January 13th at 7:30 pm in the CVHS Band Room. Some of the assignments are: - Parking - Unit Check-in - Spectator Ticket Sales - Fundraiser tables - many, many volunteers will be needed - Gatekeepers (all entrances into the main and auxiliary gyms) - Timekeeper - Runners - Student Unit Guides - First Aid - D. Mendoza/S. Durlock - Concessions: (L. Kutskill/M. Nowak chairs) - ON-site volunteer coordinator - help volunteers get to their places and get relieved periodically - Announcer We will have the need for student volunteers as well. There will be signup sheets in the 10-12 Building and the 9th grade center band rooms. Students in NHS can earn volunteer hours. Melani Robinson will be overseeing the volunteers. Please email Melani to sign up! Please provide your hours of availability, any assignment preference (if you have one), email address and cell phone number. There will be a volunteer meeting held to go over all of the volunteer assignments and to walk everyone through the flow of the event the week before. It will be very important that you and your student volunteer attend. The date and time of that meeting will be announced through another email and at the booster meeting. |

Many are printed and people enjoy reading about the other schools and keeping scores. Students should be selling at least one ad each. Each student will get 20% of their total sales from program ad sales in their own student account. This is a great opportunity to help pay for Florida or other band expenses. Family ads are encouraged.
